What is the most important tetrazolium testing issue in your lab?

I have problems with artifacts in the staining patterns of 4-winged saltbush. I've overcome them by cutting close to the seed and then piercing the embryonic axis, staining with 1% tz, then teasing out the seed from the achene to read the tz.
